LGEF Suggested Donation
LGEF suggests $800 per child as a tax-deductible donation.
Here is why.
1. LGEF is the source of funding for supplemental teachers and staff.
LGEF is the only organization providing supplemental funding to our schools for the supplemental teachers and staff that ensure our children have a balanced education. Without LGEF funding supplemental programs at all schools would need to be reduced or even eliminated. View the positions that receive LGEF funding.
2. The $800 suggested LGEF donation is lower than other, similar Bay Area districts.
Education Foundations in similar Bay Area districts ask for $1000 per child or more. Examples: Piedmont $1663, Redwood Shores $1500, Menlo Park $1500, Mill Valley $1350, Burlingame $1250, San Carlos $1200, Los Altos $1200, Palo Alto $1000, Saratoga $1000.
3. School costs continue to rise.
Costs to our schools continue to rise. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, prices in 2018 were 33.40% higher than prices in 2004. The dollar experienced an average inflation rate of 2.87% per year during this period.
Donations of any amount are gratefully accepted!
Every donation makes a difference to our students and our schools, and all are appreciated.
